Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana plans to add about 240 new production team members by the end of November to support next year's increased Highlander sport utility vehicle production.

The hiring began this month. The new Toyota team members will come from Aerotek, which maintains a "variable workforce" to meet the Princeton plant's fluctuating production needs.

Toyota expects to hire another 160 team members next year.

Skilled maintenance positions are also available at Toyota and can be viewed atwww.toyota.com/jobs.

Meanwhile, Aerotek will be hiring new variable work force production members to replace those joining Toyota directly.

Toyota said Aerotek recently increased wages and benefits for its employees assigned to the Princeton plant and extended the maximum assignment terms. Applicants interested in Aerotek production positions can apply at www.aerotekin.com.

Toyota said earlier this year it would need 400 new team members for the $400 million expansion at Princeton to build the Highlander Hybrid, as well as models for export to the Russian and Australian regions, and to meet increasing demand for the Highlander in North America.

Toyota began production in Princeton, Ind., in 1998. Today, the $3.8 billion plant employs about 4,100 team members from the Tri-state who produce the Sequoia full-size sport utility vehicle, Sienna minivan and Highlander midsize sport utility vehicle.
